am not surprised! apparently, the construction of the asafi imambara was undertaken primarily to provide employment to the people during a severe drought.
oh yeah, i remember the guide telling us that the building kept getting broken down and then rebuilt again so employment could be provided. and so, it took a really long time to be completed.
i love the Imambaras. they’re majestic – there is an air of a ruined royalty around them.
